Complete Part 19 walkthrough for Gears of War 4, including finding Cog Tag CT21 and CT22, and strategies for the mine cart ride.
Walkthrough
- 1Kick open the door at the end of the long hallway. Jack must open it as Marcus cannot.
- 2An elevator will appear with a Boomer and a Drone with a Shotgun. When the elevator is low enough, throw a grenade through the small opening in the top of the gate to land on its floor, eliminating the shotgun-wielding Drone and damaging the Boomer.
- 3Once the elevator door opens, use a shotgun to quickly defeat the weakened Boomer.
- 4After defeating the Boomer, Jack will open the door.
- 5Proceed through the area, picking up all available ammo as you will not return.
- 6Locate Cog Tag (CT21) at the bottom by heading down the stairs to the carts and looking to the right.
- 7Head upstairs to the room on the left.
- 8Press the button on the computer in that room.
- 9Head downstairs to get on the mine carts to end this chapter.
Coalition Cargo (A34)
- You will now be on a mine cart ride. Enemies will appear.
- On Casual and Hardcore, use the shotgun against Lambent Wretches. On Insane mode, use the Magnum and aim to kill them before they explode near your cart.
- Ignore the Drones on your right at the start of the ride; stay down.
- When Anya reroutes to stop you from going into the fire, prepare for about three Wretches to come from the ceiling, originating from hanging rooftops on the right or left.
- Outside, two Locust Drones will be on a platform to the far right; stay down to avoid their damage.
- When you head inside again, wait for the cart to stop. Quickly eliminate any Wretches coming toward you.
- Look to your left for a Locust enemy that must be killed before proceeding.
- Be prepared for about three Wretches to come from low-hanging ceilings on the left or right in the next hallway.
- You will go down an elevator at the end of this hallway.
- A Boomer will appear; stay down to avoid its attacks.
- The next hallway has no enemies.
- Pick up the ammo box if needed and proceed through the door.
- You may encounter a Wretch; shoot it if it appears on your side, or assist Dom if it appears on his.
- In the long hallway, keep the Shotgun ready and walk slowly, being careful of several Wretches that appear.
- In the "core room" with a walkway high off the ground, walk to the end.
- Use a Longshot/Lancer to attack the Boomer on the platform below. If it survives, use your shotgun to engage it.
- Assist Dom with his Boomer using your Longshot if desired.
Darkest Before Dawn (A35)
- Head down the solitary path until an intersection.
- Continue straight to the very end to find Cog Tag (CT22).
- Turn around and take the other path at the intersection.
- Lambent Wretches will appear; use the same tactics as before, chaining their explosions if possible. Retreat if they start to overtake you.
- At a steeper slope with a flat opening at the bottom, more Wretches will appear. Use the same tactics.
- Walk to the end of this section.
Tips
- On Insane mode, hiding in a small room and shotgunning Lambent Wretches through a doorway is advised. Ensure active reloads are used effectively as many Wretches swarm simultaneously.
- It is recommended to use the shotgun on Casual and Hardcore difficulties for the mine cart ride, as Lambent Wretches do not deal enough damage to kill you when they explode.
- On Insane mode during the mine cart ride, using the Magnum to shoot Wretches early before they explode near your cart is do-or-die. Shotgunning them may cause them to fall into your cart, leading to instant death due to inability to move.
- The Lancer might be more effective than the Magnum on Insane mode during the mine cart ride, but not on Casual.
- Enemies on the mine cart ride can be memorized with a few attempts.
- Be careful with Boomers and their Boomshots, as they deal significant damage.
- When encountering Wretches, chain their explosions for efficiency.
- If Wretches start to overtake you, retreat and let the AI handle them.
