Prologue - Surf and Turf (Crawfish Bay) - AKA Tutorial

Learn all the essential skills in Maneater's 'Surf and Turf' prologue, including Consume, Tailwhip, Knifing, Jumping, and more. Your sharky adventure begins here!

    Start the game by hitting start on the main menu, selecting play, choosing a save slot, and watching the opening cutscene.

    After the cutscene, you'll control a level 10 Adult Bull Shark. Use the right stick to look up/down (option to invert controls available) and the left stick to move.

    Consume Skill: Press or hold R2 to consume prey. Tap repeatedly to consume. You need to kill three different creatures using this skill. Levels next to creature names indicate their difficulty and health; higher levels are tougher.

    Tailwhip Skill: Use L1 to knockback and stun targets. Use this skill three times on nearby sea life. A target symbol will appear when you are close enough to lock on.
  5. 5
    Knifing Skill: Swim to the surface at normal speed to enter Knifing mode, allowing you to skim the water's surface. Hold L2 to speed up swimming; releasing it returns to normal speed.

    Proceed through a long tunnel towards a grate marker (approx. 150m). Press R2 multiple times to attack and break the grate, completing your first map marker.
  7. 7
    Once through the grate, swim to the surface at normal speed to start Knifing. Continue for about 5 meters to complete this objective.

    Jump Skill: While Knifing, press X to jump out of the water. Perform this three times.

    Submerge Skill: Press Square to leave the Knifing position and submerge.

    Lunge Skill: Use L2 to gain a burst of speed towards your target. Hold L2 to maintain maximum speed.

    Breaching Skill: While submerged, aim towards the surface and use Lunge (L2) to breach out of the water. Repeat this process a few times, submerging with Square after each breach.

    Whipshot Skill: Hold R2 on an object (like a creature) to grab it, then press L1 to Whipshot it away. Find a creature above level 5 for this. Successfully performing this earns your first trophy.
