New to God eater section
New to God Eater 3? This guide explains the mission flow, gameplay basics, and how to use the terminal for loadouts, crafting, and more. Start your Aragami hunt!
This section is for players new to the God Eater franchise. If you're familiar with the series, you likely know the function of the terminal already.
Gameplay in God Eater 3 is centered around undertaking missions where you fight and defeat enemies to obtain rewards and materials. These resources are used to upgrade or craft new gear, and the cycle repeats. While similar to Monster Hunter, God Eater 3 distinguishes itself with a high degree of combat ability customization, leading to entertaining battles and unique combat styles.
Missions are initiated by interacting with a specific screen in the hub world or by speaking with an NPC. During missions, you must slay designated enemies within a time limit, typically 40 minutes. You fail a mission if you run out of endurance (by respawning too many times after losing all health) or if the time limit expires, though these scenarios are uncommon. You can also view the drop rates for various items and identify obtainable 'area items' within missions.
Missions can be played solo with up to three NPC teammates or in multiplayer with up to four other players. Multiplayer sessions can be started via the terminal.
The Terminal
The terminal is a key feature in the hub world where you'll spend most of your time, alongside missions. It allows you to manage various aspects of your gameplay.
Loadout
In this section, you select your gear, including Melee parts, Gun parts, and Shield parts. You can also equip Burst Arts, Burst Art effects, Acceleration Triggers, and Engages. Appearance customization is also available here.
Item Prep
Here, you can view and prepare consumable items for missions. You can also check collected materials, both from enemies (Aragami materials) and the environment (area materials). This is also where you can sell materials and trade items.
Craft and Upgrade
This is where you craft your Melee weapons, Guns, and Shields, and then upgrade them using materials obtained from defeated enemies. You can also craft items, certain materials, consumables, outfits, and Burst Control Units. Additionally, you can install and rebuild skills using abandoned God Arcs.
Database
The Database provides thorough information on the game's world, characters, Aragami, weapon types, and game mechanics. It also contains lore details, though it may not cover events from previous games extensively.
Further details on mechanics and gameplay can be found in the Database, the 'God Eater 3 Mechanics Changes' section, or the story mode walkthrough.
Update 1.20
Dive into God Eater 3's Update 1.20! Discover the new Aragami Amen-Ra, Certification Missions, character customization, and crucial balance changes for Aragami and player actions.
Hey there! So, you've heard about Update 1.20 for God Eater 3? It's a pretty solid patch that adds a bunch of cool stuff and tweaks the gameplay a bit. Let's break down what's new so you know exactly what to expect.
What's New in Update 1.20:
- New Aragami: Amen-Ra — Get ready to face Amen-Ra, a fiery Ash Aragami that's all about those blazing orbs. Its signature feature is a crimson horn made of concentrated crystal right on its head, which is a dead giveaway for the insane energy it packs.
- Certification Missions — Think of these as your next big challenge! By completing missions at higher difficulties, you'll get
Rank 7 missions
Master God Eater 3's Rank 7 missions! Learn strategies for challenging optional missions, facing multiple Aragami, and preparing for the ultimate boss fights like Twilight of the Hounds.
Alright, so you've beaten the main story and seen the credits roll! First things first, head back to the lobby and have a chat with Hilda, then find Ein. Once you've done that, he'll join you on missions. This also claims the final Assault mission (for now) and, more importantly, Rank 7! Don't worry, all Rank 7 missions are optional side content until future updates, so you can tackle them at your own pace.
Most Rank 7 missions throw two Aragami at you simultaneously. Honestly, at this point, you should have the basics down, so I won't bore you with the usual song and dance. Instead, let's talk strategy and what to expect.
After you clear the first couple of missions, you'll unlock five new routes: North, East, West, South, and one leading to a Restricted Ash route. Each of these paths has about 5-6 missions. The final mission on each route is a doozy – either a two or three-part expedition. And after that expedition? You'll face an Ash Aragami alongside a mid-sized Aragami. By clearing all five routes, you'll eventually battle all five Ash Aragami.
Once you've conquered those routes, the true final mission unlocks: Twilight of the Hounds. This is a brutal two-part expedition where you'll fight ALL the Ash Aragami back-to-back. The first mission pits you against Ra and Nuadh, and the second has you facing the remaining three, one after another. It's a serious test of endurance!
Gear Up!
- Weapon Choice: With so many varying elemental weaknesses, I'd steer clear of Blaze, Freeze, or Spark. It's almost guaranteed one enemy will resist it. Stick to neutral or divine weaponry. This will make dealing with tough foes like Nuadh and Anubis (who are often the last enemies on a mission) much easier.
- Support Items: Stock up! Keep extensive supplies of healing gear. You'll need them to stay alive through these grueling fights.
- Skills: Equip skills that boost your maximum Endurance. You'll be relying on it heavily.
Combat Tips:
- Avoid Devours: Try your absolute best not to get devoured. Ashborn Aragami have a nasty habit of draining your Endurance, and you'll run out fast if you're not careful. Pay special attention to Dromi and Ra's devouring skills – they're incredibly hard to dodge if you're caught off guard.
- Ash Aragami Encounters: Be prepared for intense fights. These are the toughest challenges Rank 7 has to offer, so bring your best gear and honed skills.
After you finally beat Twilight of the Hounds, you'll snag the related trophy and officially be done with all Rank 7 missions (pre-update, at least!). You'll also secure the final Assault mission available at this time, a tough fight against a Megido Odin.
Good luck out there, Hunter!
