- 4Stargazers are highlighted bright blue.
- 5Items you receive are highlighted a more subdued blue.
- 6Important choices are preceded by a Warning: statement.
- 7Notes about alternative ending decisions are in pink.
- 8Example excerpt from Chapter 2 (@ Krat City Hall): Follow the street to a fountain and turn left into the alley. Press the button to open the shortcut. Continue up the steps past the fountain. Check near the tree on the left side of the entrance to pick up Krat News Issue 1124. Now go to the opposite side and defeat the Brawler Puppet. Check near the tree on the right side of the entrance to pick up Broken Baby Puppet. Enter city hall and look for a chest on the left. Open the chest to obtain the Puppet Destroyer's Amulet. Before most major boss arenas, you will find a basin that allows you to spend a Star Fragment to summon a Specter (an NPC (non-player character — anyone the game controls, not you) ally) who will assist in taking the boss down. Open the door to enter the courtyard. Defeat the Scrapped Watchman to get Overcharged Storage Battery, Broken Hero's Ergo, Core, Quartz, and Small Wooden Officer Puppet. Repair the Stargazer.
- 9Example excerpt from @ Krat City Hall Courtyard: Investigate "Friends" near the bench on the left to get Faded Whistle.
- The guide includes notes to help you achieve endings other than the primary Lies of P ending.
- The structure is designed to help you collect as many missables as possible.
General Suggestions
Learn crucial combat tips for Lies of P: Overture! Discover how to handle Fury Attacks, weaken enemies with perfect guards, and leverage regular guarding for survival and HP regain.
Hey there, P! Before you dive headfirst into Krat, let's go over a few general combat tips that'll make your journey a whole lot smoother. These aren't tied to any specific mission, but knowing them will save you a ton of trouble.
You cannot i-frame Fury Attacks
You'll notice some enemies have these nasty special attacks where they glow red as they're winding up. Don't even think about trying to dodge through these – your invincibility frames (i-frames) on the dodge roll won't work. Your only options are to either nail a perfect guard or get out of the way. Sometimes just running in the opposite direction is enough, but be prepared to perfect guard others. There's an amulet later on that can help with this, so keep an eye out if Fury Attacks are giving you a hard time.
You can weaken some enemies with perfect guard
Here's a neat trick: when you successfully perfect guard an enemy's attack, their weapon will glow red for a bit. If you keep landing perfect guards on them, you can actually break their weapon! This is huge because it drastically cuts down the damage they deal. It's not a big deal for the regular grunts, but it's a lifesaver for some of the tougher mini-bosses, like that creepy jester puppet you'll find in Lorenzini Arcade.
Guarding is almost as good as perfect guarding
Don't sweat it if you can't nail a perfect guard every single time. Regular guarding is still super effective! Most weapons will block at least 50% of incoming damage. Plus, if you attack right after guarding, you can usually recover all the HP you lost using the Guard Regain mechanic. So, don't be afraid to block – it's a solid defensive option.
Build Suggestions
Master your build in Lies of P: Overture! Learn about P-Organ upgrades, stat softcaps, elemental damage, and effective use of throwables for every playstyle.
Hey there! Ready to dive into optimizing your character in Lies of P: Overture? This section is all about helping you make smart choices with your P-Organ upgrades and stats so you can tackle whatever the game throws at you. Let's get you set up right!
P-Organ Upgrades are Key
Honestly, don't sleep on the P-Organ system. It's way more important than just raw stats. A lot of your core mechanics, like how many Pulse Cells you can carry, how many Amulet slots you have, and even some dodge abilities, are tied to these upgrades. So, make prioritizing them your first move. When you're choosing the smaller bonuses, look for things like Pulse Cell Recovery, increasing your Throwable item limit, and anything that boosts your perfect guard. These are generally solid choices, but remember, the best picks can also depend on the specific build you're going for.
Understanding Stat Softcaps
Unlike some other Souls-like games, the stat softcaps in Lies of P: Overture aren't super punishing. My general advice? Unless you have a very specific plan from the get-go, aim to get your Vitality, Motivity, Technique, and Advance stats up to 20. For Vigor, hitting 10 is a good starting point. After that, pick one main damage stat (Motivity, Technique, or Advance) and pump it up to 40. While you're doing this, keep an eye on your Capacity stat. You'll want to increase this as needed to stay under the 60% weight ratio, especially once you start finding better armor.
- Vitality (HP): Aim for 20, then 40.
- Vigor (Stamina): Start with 10, then aim for 20.
- Capacity (Weight, Legion): This one doesn't have strict softcaps. Just increase it as you equip heavier armor to maintain your weight ratio.
- Motivity: Aim for 20, then 40.
- Technique: Aim for 20, then 40.
- Advance: Aim for 20, then 40.
Embrace Elemental Damage
Elemental damage is incredibly potent in this game, and builds focused on the Advance stat get a big leg up here. This is because Advance scales with the elemental damage on split-damage weapons, and many of these weapons have buffs that crank up elemental damage even further. But hey, even if you're not going full Advance, everyone can use elemental damage. Melee-focused characters can use Special Grindstones or elemental consumables to get a temporary elemental buff. If you're running an Advance build, weapons like the Flamberge, Fulminis, or Pandemonium offer consistent, built-in elemental damage.
Don't Forget About Throwables!
Seriously, throwables are your best friend for dealing with those particularly annoying enemies or mini-bosses. Sometimes you just want to melt them down, right? Well, you can! Throwables are super effective and come in varieties that suit different builds. Again, Advance builds shine here, but any build can get a significant burst of damage by unloading their entire throwable inventory on a tough enemy or boss.
