Item Rarity & Affixes

Explanation of MetaMorph's item rarity system (Common to Legendary) and how affixes impact gear effectiveness and build synergy.

Understanding item rarity and affixes is high-stakes for evaluating gear and optimizing your character. Items in MetaMorph follow a standard rarity system:

• Common (Grey): Basic stats, no special affixes.
• Uncommon (Green): Slightly better stats, 1-2 minor affixes.
• Rare (Blue): Good stats, 2-3 significant affixes.
• Epic (Purple): Excellent stats, 3-4 powerful affixes, sometimes a unique passive effect.
• Legendary (Orange): Best stats, 4+ powerful affixes, always a unique and often game-changing passive effect. These are often tied to specific boss drops or challenging quests.

Affixes: These are the additional bonuses an item provides beyond its base stats. Examples include: '+10 Strength', '+5% Critical Hit Chance', 'Reduces cooldown of shapeshift abilities by 10%', 'Grants a shield on hit'. Always compare items not just by their base damage/defense, but by the utility and synergy of their affixes with your build. A rare item with perfect affixes can sometimes be better than an epic item with irrelevant ones.
